Frequently Asked Questions:
Are there any catches or hidden fees to the free subdomains?
Absolutely no catches. We have been reliably providing subdomain addresses
to people for years.
Do my visitors see any of your advertisements?
No. We do not serve any ads to your surfers when they visit your url. When a surfer visits our
WSRoute URL, they will go straight to the destination address that you setup.
Can I register multiple addresses in your system?
Yes. You can register an unlimited amount of addresses
Do you provide stats for visitor information to my address?
Yes. We provide indepth stats about the visitors who are accessing your WSROUTE shortened URL.
Now you'll know how many people are visiting your photo gallery or blog!
What do you mean by "destination url"? *terminology lesson*
The destination URL is simply the URL that yourname.wsroute.com will point to. If you have a photogallery
at http://myownphotogallery.com/users/sam55/ , and you want to shorten the address to sam.wsroute.com,
you would refer to http://myownphotogallery.com/users/sam55/ as the destination URL, and sam.wsroute.com
as the redirection URL.
What is the URL Cloaking Feature?
This will completely hide the desination url. The visitor will only see name.wsroute.com in the address bar.
This is a good option if you change your destination URL often. Folks will bookmark your WSRoute address
instead of the destination page/file addresses.
What is Path-Forwarding?
Here is an example of path forwarding:
Let's say your destination URL is http://myownphotogallery.com/users/sam55/.
If http://sam.wsroute.com is your
shortened URL, then http://sam.wsorute.com/album2/ would actually point to http://myownphotogallery.com/users/sam55/album2/.
What is "Automatic Meta-Tag Fetching"?
When you register a subdomain address with WSRoute, our spider visits your destination URL and automatically will assume the
same meta-tags as the destination URL. This means your WSRoute address will have have the same Title, Meta-Keywords, Meta-Descriptions , etc
as your deination URL.
If I put www infront of my address will it still work?
Yes. http://www.file1.wsroute.com will work the same as http://file1.wsroute.com
